Siyanda is Diaspora led organisation established in 2010. It focuses its work in three areas, namely:
Alcohol and Drugs
In Education, it sponsors orphaned and/ or vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete at least primary level education through its Educare Programme.
In Alcohol, Drugs and Mental Health, it educates, promotes and raises awareness of health issues such as HIV/ AIDS, alcohol and drug misuse, mental health.
In addition Siyanda engages the African Diaspora community to actively participate in the development on their countries of origin and to raise public’s awareness of developmental issues affecting young people.
We Work in collaboration with government ministries, local NGOs and INGOs in developing enabling policies that focuses on young people.
The organisation is managed by a group of five individuals who come from diverse backgrounds ranging from health and social care to retail. Between them, they have over 30 years’ experience of working in private and public sectors as well as in the 3rd sector. They all have a passion for development issues primarily education of children especially girls.
